Then I felt our two blessed seniors, Dave and Hedi, standing close by me, almost arm in arm, in harmony. My throat get stuck (and not because it wasn’t warm) because I heard both their voices, their distinct tones. </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">As Paula Gills pointed out, Hedi passed on Mozart’s birthday, following a visit to her home of Vienna and just before a performance of her father’s compositions. </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">I’m as what Dan calls an “opportunitarian” (which means that I believe basically anything that makes kind, gentle, spiritual sense). I believe in stuff that leans past “logic”…Having lost my parents when I was pretty young, I have a feeling that our beloved newly dead stick around for a while until a certain that our let-going is peacefully done. </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">I do recall that at Catherine’s memorial service several of us (!) attested to feeling her ‘whoosh’ with the wind, past and out the other window. <div dir="ltr" class="">I am so sorry to hear about Hedi, and I will miss her. Still, I'm heartened to remember that she was able to live her life so fully until very recently. She was in choir only last week, and in Onion River Chorus the last time it met. I doubt she'd stopped her many other activities. And she had had that marvelous trip to Austria in December.

Earlier I had heard she has pain from damaged muscles and nerves, but no signs of pneumonia. She is on a lot of medication for that pain, but took herself off one drug which made her "crazy." The doctor said she would need to go to rehab and it would be a slow recovery even with physical therapy. Hedi said she preferred Berlin Rehab. I saw her tonight and she was very confused and looked weak. Karin, her daughter, called me a few minutes ago and had been at the hospital just a little after I was. She told me Hedi had been moved to the ICU just after I had visited her with the possible diagnosis" (Katin's words) of pneumonia. Feel free to pass this info to others in the choir. Harris</div>

Earlier, this morning, I told her many from the choir specifically spoke to me and sent their love and I could see all members felt that way as I was making the announcement. </div>
