Diana Chace, who was co-chair of C.A.T. last church year, agreed to be (and is) the chair this year, with the understanding that some other C.A.T. members would help her with certain tasks. Right now C.A.T. has about six regular attendees and about six others have occasionally attended meetings, including a member of another congregation. C.A.T. has attempted to keep UCM members and friends informed about 'protecting the Earth Our Home' through the E News , the regular Sunday services and in a few break-out rooms during coffee hour, and plans on continuing to do so and even expanding those activities during the remainder of the current church year. CAT collaborated with Reverend Joan on the "Murmur of the Birds" art and action project associated with the Glasgow Climate Summit (COP26) in October and November. C.A.T. had previously set up a google group (ucm-climate-action-team@googlegroups.com) to enhance communication about climate action for church members and friends. Why not consider joining this google group by contacting Laura Brooke? C.A.T. members especially have used this group to publicize climate action. Last summer, C.A.T. members met in Hubbard Parkwith members of the climate team from the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington, which resulted in setting up a second climate google group with members of several Unitarian Universalist churches from across Vermont. Also some individual C.A.T. members have acted as liaisons for other state-wide and nation-wide climate action groups and report their activities to us . All C.A.T. members would like us to do more in these Covid times, but we do exist and hope to do better in the future to protect the Earth Our Home. It needs protection.

I believe and feel justified in attempting to persuade all members and friends of UCM, especially CoC members, to support and work to protect the Earth Our Home, not just C.A.T. members. We all as individuals and members of church groups such as the Climate Action Team should welcome all, we all should build a loving community, we all should foster spiritual growth, we all should serve human need and we all should protect the Earth our home in some form or fashion as a member or friend of this church and commit to support all of the 5 major phrases in the Mission Statement and all 8 principles of the UUA denomination, each individual and group in their own way, but in some way. Soon each of us will decide how much financial support we will pledge to support UCM. That might be a good time also to consider how much will we pledge to support our UCM Mission Statement and our UUA principles.

Hi Diana, Please check this report over for minor errors including mii/HW's computer errors, and adding to or possiblee revising the descriptions of substantive C.A.T. accomplishments this church -ear. The sole section I don't want major editing on is on mii/HW's personal opinion which I would have expressed to CoC during its recent meeting about how I believes uCM members and friends should respond to the last phrase in uCM's Mission Statement, protect the Earth Our Home.
