In July, we held a retreat at Hubbard Park to brainstorm ideas and plan for the coming year. We decided to offer the congregation a climate challenge each month, which might range from personal consumption choices to political demonstrations to reading and discussing books about climate change. We also decided to take action on bills in the legislature and to help incorporate the idea of taking care of the land more deeply into Sunday services.</p>
<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times" class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times" class="MsoNormal">The September challenge was to eat vegetarian for a month, and the October challenge was to talk with other people about climate change and voting.</p>
<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times" class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times" class="MsoNormal">During this time, CAT monthly meetings continued to be a useful forum for sharing information about other climate events in the community. We also frequently tabled in the vestry after services, offering members of the congregation books and resources about climate change, as well as more information about the challenge of the month.</p>

<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:Times" class="MsoNormal">In October, CAT scaled back its activities, and the challenge of the month was put on hold.</p>
