The Green Mountain Mahler Festival, a Burlington organization that presents
readings and occasional performances of great orchestral masterworks,
including an annual performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony on New Year's
Day, is performing the Brahms Requiem (auf Deutsch!) as a benefit
performance for the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program on Saturday, June
17th at North End Studios' new space, St. Joseph's Catholic School on Allen
Street.
You are invited to participate!
The chorus and orchestra will rehearse separately that morning, combine for
an afternoon rehearsal, and perform in the space at 4:30. Dan Bruce will be
leading the orchestra and the performance, and I will be preparing the
chorus.
This is all the information I know right now. I'll distribute new
information as it comes in to me.
I hope you can do it!
Dick
