Greetings:

As some of you know, I have been programming and conducting for a small
"pick up " choir for services at the Washington Vermont UU Congregation
this summer. We have had 3-6 singers each Sunday and usually sing two
responses, one at the start and the other at the close of the service.
These are very accessible and easy to learn in fifteen minute multi part
pieces, normally under 30 seconds.

This coming Sunday, Rev. Joan is presenting the service as described
below. If you are interested in joining us, I ask that you show up by
9:15 (service is at 10), so we can rehearse. I am planning on our
singing "Clap Your Hands" (text based on Psalm 47.1) by Roger Grow
(formerly of Counterpoint and former long time music director at Barre
UU) and "Blessings of Love " based on a Sufi chant.

While all you have to do is show up, if you let me know you are coming,
I will email you copies of the music for you to look at, but ask that
you do not print out and bring because of copyright concerns.

Much thanks.

Steve Finner

August 13: “Calling In” with Rev. Joan Javier-Duval

In our efforts to be welcoming and inclusive, we can often strive for
perfection, holding ourselves and others accountable to high standards
of right relations and living. How do we balance our idealism with
humility and compassion as we hold one another accountable to our shared
values and vision for the world?
