Dear friends,

I would like to invite you to help me celebrate my 90th birthday by coming
to a party in the vestry on Sunday, Sept. 3rd, 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

This is a fundraising event for Heifer International. Harris Webster and I
have hosted such an event between Thanksgiving and Christmas in the last
few years, but since Harris will be doing volunteer work in Cambodia then
and I will be leaving for Vienna to spend three weeks for the event to
honor my composer father's music, I have decided to invite friends to this
birthday party/fundraising event for Heifer International.

I invite requesting that you write a check made out to Heifer International
in any amount, (perhaps $10). I will send these checks together to the
Heifer Farm, where they will then credit our contributions as being from
the UCM congregation.

Friends from the Women's Alliance and my daughter Janet Ballantyne will
host the reception.

I hope you will be able to attend.
