Hi Bill,I'm happy to say, I can help this time. I've been spending a lot of time this summer making hymn selections (5 services in Barnard) & am happy to help with that. Also, I have many readings/poems at the ready -- would love to share one of those as well. And, of course, share in the singing.

Hi all,
We have a vespers service coming up Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 7:00.  I could use some assistance in planning and presenting the service, so I cast my net wide again.  If you’d rather not be on this email chain, just say so and I’ll send only to those who’d like to participate.  

If you’d like to assist in any way - even just a hymn selection or poem to read - reply to this message.  The service runs roughly 30-40 minutes and features a few readings, poetry, a few musical pieces - usually a hymn or two - and some meditations.  It would be cool to have a few choir members either sing a hymn together and/or lead whomever is there in hymns.

I’ll need to know pretty quickly if we have someone to play piano - but it was wonderful to have Christen accompany on trumpet and play wonderful prelude and postlude.

I think we can plan most of this via email and maybe an organizing meeting before the service (6:00pm?).

There have been some events in our community, nationally and internationally as well that have brought on a lot of strong feelings.  A vespers service will be a way to be together as we face these things together in community.
