[Choir] Softly, with added panache!

Our version of "Softly" this morning (which received appreciative comments
from both Joan and Roger!) brought me back to an experience I had when I
sang in the Church of the Advent choir in Boston. We were doing a really
difficult new piece, and there was a pregnant pause in the middle of the
piece, with some very tricky notes to follow.

The choir all paused, quaking in their boots, and waited for the conductor
to cue us in again. The cue came and no one sang - except for me - and I
sang the wrong note! But the good news was that the music was impossible
for the congregation to follow easily, and I'm sure that no one knew that
it wasn't really supposed to be a Riley solo. Everyone eventually snuck
back in and the music went on.

So we rewrote "Softly" a little bit and the congregation loved it!

See you at 5:45 on Tuesday, dressed in red up top, dark blue or black below.
