[Choir] Speaking of Pete Seeger

Not too long ago, Bronwyn sang a Woody Guthrie/Pete Seeger song about a 1948 plane crash that killed 28 Mexican brazeros who were buried in one mass anonymous grave. I believe the song was called "Deportees."
Well, thanks in large part to the power of that song, the dead men are anonymous no longer. There is now a beautiful marble headstone listing all their names, & their families were invited to a ceremony there.
I heard all about this yesterday on an NPR program, "Latino USA." I'm sorry I don't have the link as I am traveling -- but you all could google it if you're interested. It's a very moving human interest story, & both the song & Pete Seeger are part of that.
See you Thursday night,
Ginny

If anyone is interested, we could put together some songs as duets/trios, solos, etc. and I would be delighted to work with you. If interested, please get back to me and also if you have suggestions for musicians whom you think would be good contributors to the evening, please do let me know.

Harris has some folk music sheets and will bring them. Please feel free to bring folk music you may have. Only request is to bring atleast 4 copies so we can all sing together.
