[Choir] There's a place...

G'mornin' choir,
I woke up thinking about the beginning of "There's a Place For Us" and have
decided that the choral arrangement that we're singing miscalculates what
will sound best at the beginning.
To have each section of the choir sing those "oo" and "oh" lines with those
rising 7ths while Joan, our soloist, is singing in the middle-low range
just doesn't work. It's impossible to not cover Joan up, and those wide
intervals are very difficult. And they're played by the piano.
So the solution that will make the beginning of this arrangement much more
natural is to have Eliza play the accompaniment by herself while Joan
sings, and the choir will enter when you sing together for the first time.
So sleep well. You'll sound terrific on Sunday!
Dick
