Dear Choir,

I have missed your voices. I (and many others) have missed them on Sunday
mornings, but I have especially missed your voices on Thursday evenings
when it's *our* time to sing together!

So...

Let's sing together *next Thursday, April 16 at our usual time of 6:30 pm*!
We will all, of course, be in our homes, but Lani, Donia, Nan and I have
put together a sing-along via Zoom, the audio/video conferencing program.
This will include choir music that you've sung at UCM ("Sicut Cervus,"
"Sumer is i-cumin in," and "Hard Times") as well as familiar songs like
Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," Carole King's "You've Got a
Friend," "Swing Lo Sweet Chariot," and more!

I know that some of you have already downloaded and use Zoom, but for those
who haven't, it is easily available on the internet and does not cost
anything. Learn about it here <https://zoom.us/>. Donia will be our Zoom
"host," so once you have downloaded it, you will be able to join our
audio/video/ singing "conference" with Donia at the helm. You won't hear
other choir members' voices as you sing, but there will be either a piano
or recording to sing along with, and we hope that with your vivid
imagination you'll "hear" and see everyone singing along!

Now, singing in Zoom ain't a-gonna be like sitting next to each other and
singing at UCM, but we are looking for creative ways to work with the
limitations of Zoom, so we'll be trying different things. We hope this'll
be a fun experiment.

Next Tuesday, we'll send you the music and lyrics to the music that we'll
be singing together, and instructions on how to connect via Zoom. In the
meantime, warm up those vocal cords, and join us next Thursday at 6:30! Put
it on your calendar!

All best, and stay well,
Dick

P.S. One more thing - just for fun, if you are so inclined, wear a
color-coded shirt when we get together next Thursday. Yellow for soprano,
red for alto, green for tenor, blue for bass!
