Okay, I tried. Vic, the files will be coming from my husband's email, RESassaman at aol.com.
I sounded TERRIBLE!!! A soloist, I am not. Ugh. Embarassingly bad.
So please do not use if it is too bad!!!
But, if my singing helps augment the overall group sound, then I'm game to keep trying this.
Thank you so so much for your efforts,Ginny

Hello,
The best way for me to receive files is through WeTransfer.
This is simply a website, where you drag the file and enter the recipients email address. Files smaller than 2 Gigs are free (which will be all of these videos).
Thanks!
Vic

My weak link was knowing how to get the video to Vic through AirDrop or Google Drive, but I demonstrated last night that I know how to use Google drive, so I’m all set this time.
I’ll learn my part, record the audio and video of me singing, and send it to Vic by September 4.
Thanks.

Hello Everyone ...and thank you for the "tips" Sue!We have been discussing the idea of a little "kit" to help non-tech saavy choristers to be able to participate, so more on this if we can figure out what to get and how to pay for it. I guess the thing is to try it and try not to feel self-conscious, knowing that others will be joined with your own voice (and Victor is the one who gets to hear us alone! Lucky you!)BethFrom: Choir <choir-bounces at unitarianchurchofmontpelier.org> on behalf of Sue Stukey via Choir <choir at unitarianchurchofmontpelier.org>

Subject: Re: [Choir] Other songs Hi, Eliza, and Choir,Here's what I learned when recording the songs for GA :
It's pretty basic.. Connect your earphones to an Iphone or computer (so you can hear the music Eliza is playing).   Play the videos from Eliza, and record a video of you singing along with her playing on a second device (computer or Ipad).  This way, you'll hear the music but the recording won't...  (it will be synced in later).  Send the recorded song-video to Vic through Airdrop, or download to Google Drive, or some such program (sorry I don't  know a lot of the possibilities,  I just know that Videos are usually too large to attach to an email.)
We had each received a "conducting video" for our own voice part  (soprano, alto, tenor and bass)  but I'm not sure how detailed we want to be.   If we all know our part and feel comfortable singing it without hearing anyone else, it should work.  I think the trickiest part is to all start singing on the same beat....maybe Eliza, you can nod your head when it's time to come in....or something.
That's the best I can do for advice...Hope it helps!Cheers,Sue

Hi Sue,
I just sent out the other two hymns and got this request from Beth, and wonder if you think it is a good idea.  Or, if you have instructions from the uu gneral assembly experience, could we forward those on to the choir?
thanks!
Eliza

Hi choir,
Here are the other two hymns.  Vic suggests setting up and doing all three, if you’d like to, and if possible sending them to him on September 4th.  Hopefully these recordings can be included in some of the virtual services in the fall.
If you’re having technical difficulties, let us know what they are and what would help?  And thanks!  It will be lovely to hear you all again!
