Hello, UCM Choir,

Thank you to those who joined the conversation a couple weeks ago about
next steps this spring and summer with the Choir and overall UCM music
program. I greatly appreciated the participation and thoughts and
opinions shared.

The Executive Team is moving forward with putting together a Hiring
Committee to recruit and recommend an Acting Music Director candidate. We
would love for there to be active participation from choir members. I am
including a description of the committee below. Please be in touch with any
questions you might have, and I believe Kellie will also make space for any
questions or comments at this evening's rehearsal.

Warmly,
Joan

A Hiring Committee will be formed in April 2021 to carry out the
recruitment and selection of an Acting Music Director for the 2021-2022
church year. The Committee will be composed of the Minister and 4-6 lay
leaders representing the UCM Choir, Worship & Arts Committee, and Worship
Associates.

The Committee will undertake the following tasks: finalizing the Acting
Music Director job description; gathering input from the congregation to
develop criteria for selecting candidates; receiving and reviewing
applications; arranging and conducting interviews of candidates; checking
references; and recommending a final candidate to the Executive Team and
Board. The goal is to conclude this work by June 30 if not sooner, and the
Committee will need to meet regularly beginning in mid-April.

Anyone interested in serving on the Committee should contact Rev. Joan (
ucm.revjoan at gmail.com) or a member of the Executive Team (
ucm.executiveteam at gmail.com) by Friday, April 9.
