I agree! I have a friend who sings soprano in the choir in Saint Patricks Cathedral in Manhattan. I have accompanied her there several times to listen. They use paid professional singers for their solos. We don’t have to do that!! I think we have soloists, especially Vertis, who are as good as the paid professionals in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and I have heard both in person! What a truly uplifting Oh Holy Night! I’m going to send it to my friend the Saint Pats soprano.

I think Lana made a excellent point. One reason we sounded so good was your direction, Donia, and figuring out who should sing what and the result was wonderful❤️

Hi Donia,I am so happy that you sent us the video. I agree with Paula too. This gave me goose bumps and I felt a little choked up to hear our wonderful choir, under your excellent direction sing so well. It was fun to be a “back-up singer” to Verdis whose voice is sublime. A fabulous Lyric Baritone, as he describes himself. Wow! Can we top that? That was a real show-stopper!Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice and Happy New Year.Lani

Hello lovely singers,
I wanted to pass on this note from Paula Gills. I couldn't agree more! I realized in my distraction at the end of the service last night that I never wished you all a happy holiday. So, wishing you a safe (ugh, freezing rain), warm and joyous holiday! See you on Jan 6th!

Donia and Verdis,
The music last night is lingering with me this morning. First of all, it was so heartening to see you all actually in the church singing! That is a step in the right direction toward our being more whole again. I also want to say that I have, in my over 30 years in our church, seen and heard MANY versions of O, Holy Night. Last night's rendering was the absolute best--the arrangement of the song, Verdis' lead vocal, and the glorious sound of the choir made it a tour de force. Thank you all for that lovely surprise. Made my evening. Paula
