Antonio Vivaldi was a priest who always wore red. Thus he was called the
Red Priest. Not very imaginative, but obviously accurate. He was not a very
good priest, because his passion for writing music was far greater than any
desire to otherwise serve the church. And so he was assigned to celebrate
Mass on days and times where not many were expected to attend. He would
rush through the mass and the minute it was done, he was out of the pulpit,
and back in his study writing music.
