[Choir] music committee

Hello all,
Thursday evening we had a zoom meeting for anyone interested in offering
input on the music committee.

Discussion included:

   - The need for better communication to the congregation at large about
   the choir, to include recruiting more (and younger) members. This would
   also include regular newsletter blurbs, maybe biweekly or monthly.
   - Making the choir and music program in general much more visible (and
   findable) on the UCM website.  Right now you really have to be determined
   enough to search through several layers to find choir info!  Not Good!  We
   need to toot our own horn!
   - Help with keeping the music organized and filed.
   - Someone (or ones) to organize the Zoom alternative choir rehearsal.
   This may need to be initially set up by one of the IT volunteers, and then
   "turned on" each week by a choir member.  The purpose of this is to allow
   choir members to rehearse from home *with the choir rehearsing in person*
   in the event of bad weather/driving or illness.  Donia did this on a
   smaller scale in December when some choir members were ill.  We'd like to
   improve on this.
   - Someone to help choir members with Zoom logistics
   - Create ways to celebrate, social events and special projects, etc.
   - invite folks not in the choir to join the committee

The general consensus last night was that an official "standing committee"
was not required or desired, but perhaps a list of folks willing to
volunteer for specific tasks would be better.

If anyone has comments or additions to this list, we should have time to
discuss it after rehearsal today.
