That sounds wonderful! I remember reading the info about the song, which is somewhere there in the music, I think on top of where it starts, and I got the impression that it was supposed to actually be sung by children. Maybe I’m wrong about only children and young people singing it, but definitely they should be there!

Apropos the subject of kids singing:
Donia and I ran into Beth (whose last name I forget; Merrill, maybe?) and her young daughter, whose name I’m drawing a blank on right now (can you tell I’m not good with names? Don’t ever be offended if I don’t know yours! ☺️), over the summer before Donia started the job, and Beth was talking about how important she thought it was to get kids involved in singing. This sounds like a great start!

Hi everybody, I talked with Donia after rehearsal two weeks ago about "Give Us Hope." I suggested that it would be great if we had some kids singing along with us as it expressly says on page 6 "We are the future, help us believe." She loved the idea. Also talked with Liz Benjamin and she'll give me a list of children she thinks might be interested. Also, Verdis definitely is on board to have children singing that song with us. Liz suggested children come to one rehearsal (probably on a saturday) , learn the chorus along with the clapping and then we record at that rehearsal. Two rehearsals is asking too much. What do you think? And, if you have thoughts and possible suggestions on kids who might be interested, please let me know along with contact information on the children. Not sure which sunday this piece is scheduled for, but, it's not on the February schedule.
Thanks for reading and look forward to your comments and suggestions! Lindsay
