Hi friends,

I will be visiting central Vermont for two weeks and will be doing a couple
of informal jazz/improvisational piano music appearances in the area. Would
be wonderful to see friends at either of these if you can make it.

 

** Saturday, July 30, 8 to 9:30 pm

Piano solo, Upstairs at Hugo's, 118 Main Street, Montpelier

Hugo's has a grand piano, which I believe is a first for jazz spots in
Montpelier. I have never been there but believe you can order food and drink
from the main restaurant even if you sit in the upstairs area where the
piano is, but if I'm wrong about that, someone please let me know.

Because the restaurant is new, pay for the musician (yours truly) is very
low and the management is hoping those in attendance will tip me to
supplement what they will be paying me. So, please if you can, bring a
little cash with you and make a generous tip ... thanks, that will brighten
my day.

 

Also, it would be nice if any of you plan to hear me play piano on the 30th,
please drop me a line to let me know. That way, if I know from response to
this email I will already have a good crowd and the room will be pretty
full, then I can relax and not have to put in additional labor promoting my
appearance to the media. I'd rather just relax and focus on preparing the
music (and enjoying my Vermont vacation).

 

** Sunday, August 14, noon to 2 pm

Jazz duo with bassist Clyde Stats, TheSkinny Pancake restaurant, 454
Mounntain Road, Stowe

They're telling me this will be outdoors assuming good weather.

 

I may have a third appearance in the area as well, but as I write this it
isn't definite so I will send out a quick message if it comes together.

 

For those of you who don't care for jazz, I will be giving a major classical
piano concert in cabot on Friday, September 16 at 7:30 pm at the cabot
United Church, sponsored by Cabot Arts. I'll send out more about that
concert closer to the date.
