Subject: [Choir] no choir tonight

Hi everyone,

I am sorry to say that I had a covid exposure a couple of days ago and am starting to feel some symptoms. The last test I did was negative but it seems too risky to come tonight.

And, Eliza is also not feeling well--a flu/cold sort of thing she hopes will pass with rest today. So we are cancelling choir tonight.

We are not singing at this week's service, so that works out well, but might offer for people to come at 9:30 to go over hymns if they wish. I'll send out confirmation one way or the other on that. The hymns, fyi, are #1008 (Heart is in a holy place) and #1057 (Go lifted up).

Again, to be clear, NO CHOIR TONIGHT AND NO 8:45 REHEARSAL SUNDAY.

If I'm out of commission the next few days I'll have plenty of time to pull together practice materials for some new music and will send that on if so. In the meantime, enjoy this youtube recording of our next new piece: Resignation, by Florence Price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK4qazzaUUc

Btw sopranos, we are going to lower the key slightly from this recording, if the high notes give you pause .

And here is some info about Florence Price if you are interested--quite the story. <https://florenceprice.com/biography/>

Stay well, everyone, and hope to see you soon!

Donia
