Since reading Donia's email this morning, the hymn "We Are Building a New World" has established itself as an earworm in my head ...
You're welcome, ha ha ha.

 Hello all,

I hope you all have had a wonderful week, however you have celebrated (or not,) and have found some beauty in the midst of this dreary weather!
We will resume rehearsals this week, Thursday at 5:30.  If you can, try to come a little early to turn in any music you still have, with the exception of When the Song of the Angels is Stilled, which we will be singing again on the 14th.Otherwise, all new music!
I have been thinking a lot about Music Sunday, (April 30th this year) and would appreciate discussing some of my thoughts, and yours, with any of you who might be interested following our rehearsal this week.  Thematically, what I keep coming around to is this:  Last year we did Songs of Hope, and I feel we need to move beyond hope into envisioning, bringing into being, the world we want to see.  What would an exploration of that look like, musically?Or, do you have a different idea for an organizing theme?(Not looking for answers to these questions here on email--save your thoughts for Thursday, unless you have some ideas but can't attend then. In that case, please reply to me, not reply all)
Also, the Women's Alliance asked me to pass on the notice of their meeting and musical program/singalong, happening tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.  Featuring Lindsay and Heather!  Copied below.
See you soon!Donia

All members, family, and friends of the Women's Alliance are invited to gather in the Vestry on Tuesday, January 2 at 5:00 PM for our first meeting of 2024. We will have a very short business meeting, then a wonderful potluck as always, followed by a program of singalong favorites with Piano and Vocal stylists Lindsay Wade and Heather Moz. Please bring a potluck dish to share or $5 to help defray expenses.   And please RSVP to Janet Poeton jmspoet at gmail.com if you plan to eat with us so we will have places set for you.  (Please bring your own place setting if possible to reduce the amount of dishes needing attention.)

After dinner, starting between 6:15-6:30,  gather around the piano with Lindsay and Heather to welcome the New Year with favorite tunes like Blue Moon, Sunny Side of the Street, and Moon River. Lyrics will be provided. See you in the Vestry!  (Contact Sandal Cate with any questions -  sandal.cate at gmail.com
