Offie Wortham ask me to pass this on to the choir.
*Two Ships, One Beacon*
There are moments in life where we encounter a person whose presence feels
like a lighthouse—guiding, warming, and illuminating the path, even if only
for a short while. Heather Moz was one of those rare souls for me.
We met at the Unitarian Church in Montpelier, where her laughter and
radiant smile could turn an ordinary Sunday into something memorable.
Heather and I shared a moment that remains etched in my heart—a duet we
sang together during a Sunday service. It wasn't just about the music; it
was the joy of collaboration, the harmony of two voices united in purpose.
Rehearsing at her home, we shared laughter, stories, and the kind of
connection that feels timeless, even when fleeting.
It has been over a decade since our paths last crossed, yet the memory of
her laughter still echoes in my mind. Like ships that meet in the vast
expanse of the ocean, our lives converged briefly but profoundly, leaving
an indelible mark before continuing on their separate journeys.
Heather’s spirit—her laughter, her kindness, her warmth—was a beacon. Even
now, as her light fades from this world, the memory of her joy and
generosity remains, guiding those of us who had the privilege to know her.
She will be missed, not because she was a constant presence, but because
her presence, however brief, was deeply felt. Like two ships passing in the
night, we may part ways, but the light she shared will continue to guide
and inspire.
Rest well, Heather Moz. You were a gift to those who knew you, and your
light will always shine in the hearts you touched.
