All,

I wanted to update you on the Pledge Drive and invite you to help.

We are currently at $188,477 in pledges, which is 74% of our goal and $66,023 away from the goal.

There are still about 60 pledgers from last year who have not pledged yet this year, and this group gave about $75,000 last year. This is on top of any new members who haven't yet pledged.

I invite any of you who are available to help make phone calls to individuals who have yet to make their pledge. I am hosting anyone willing to make calls on Tuesday at 7pm (baked goods promised), or I can send you a list of calls to make.

Please let me know if you'd like to help.

Thanks,

Dan

Dear Committee of Chairs Members, UCM Board, and UCM Executive Team,

The 2017-2018 Pledge Drive, "A Beacon of Hope," is rapidly approaching. I have a few notes to share with you:

1) You're encouraged to come to the Pledge Drive Kickoff Dinner on Friday, March 17 at 6pm. Join us for dinner, entertainment, and a special program, starting at 6pm. Childcare will be provided. The dinner is free, but pre-registration is required. RSVP by Sunday, March 12. RSVP online at https://goo.gl/forms/wxLBvVdmHTRU1RK92.

2) We would love to be able to share that we have already made strong progress toward our pledge goal at the Kickoff Dinner and on kickoff Sunday, March 19. To that end, I ask that you consider making your pledge in advance of the official launch of the Pledge Drive. You may make your pledge online at http://bit.ly/ucmpledge or I will have pledge cards at church next Sunday. This year's pledge drive goal is $254,500, a nearly 15% increase over the current year's budgeted pledge total.

The 2017-2018 budget includes strategic investments in religious education (increased hours for Director), administration (increased hours for Office Assistant and Sexton), board development, and more. In these troubling times, UCM plays an ever more crucial role in providing a supportive community and fighting for community justice.

I ask that you reach deep and give as generously as you are able. Mary Margaret and I are pleased to be able to increase our pledge by 17% this year.

3) You're invited to help with the Pledge Drive! Your first opportunity to help is to assist with our Pledge Drive mailing on Monday, March 20 at 7pm at my house (37 Liberty Street in Montpelier). This is an easy way to help, and many hands make light work! This will involve folding, stuffing, stamping, and sealing the pledge drive mailing.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this year's pledge drive.

Sincerely,

Dan Groberg
