[Coc] Heat, Light, and a Day Off

Hello Fellow Chairs and Dear Friends,

Here are three building related things I wanted to pass along to you.

Too cold? Too hot? Push the adjustment arrow on the front of the wall mounted thermostat up or down as needed. Reset to 55 degrees when you leave. Do not open the little door on the thermostat and mess with the programming inside.

Why are the outside front lights on all the time at night? Dexter Electric has installed a time clock that turns them on at dusk and off at 11 PM just like the Kellogg Hubbard Library across the street. It adds a bid of safety to our front steps at night, elegantly bookends the library’s lighting, and with led bulbs cost a little under $4 per year. If you like this approach you can thank a member of the Aesthetics Committee!

UCM building will be closed on December 13th all day so that the ancient stone foundation in the cellar can be insulated according to Efficiency Vermont standards. This last step in the upgrading of the basement will allow us to use the basement for storage and will save us substantially on energy costs to heat our church. The Property Committee apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Go Sox!
