Dear Committee Chairs and Church Leaders,
I look forward to gathering with you next Tuesday, April 9th for the
quarterly Committee of Chairs meeting! It will be a rich time of connecting
with one another and sharing updates on important matters of congregational
life. Thanks to Elaine and Janet for their leadership in organizing the
meeting thus far!
I especially wanted to highlight the message regarding our Annual Budget
Drive for 2019-2020 that Elaine had included in the previous email. We have
had good participation so far in the budget drive with 144 pledges made
totaling about 78% of the pledge income goal for the preliminary budget for
next year. About 50% of pledgers have indicated that they had made a Fair
Share pledge! We hope to reach 210 pledges and as close to $323,000 of
pledged income as possible before we begin finalizing the budget ahead of
annual meeting.
To that end, if you haven't made your pledge yet, please do so as soon as
possible! Please use this link for our online pledge form

and
mail it, email it, or walk it in. *You can also support this effort by
sending the message below to your committee members.
Thank you for all the ways you support our church community!
Joan
*Example Message to Committee Members:*
Dear Welcoming Congregation Committee (example)
As your Committee Chair(s), we are so grateful to those of you who have
already taken the time to make a pledge of support for UCM's upcoming
budget year.
As we are growing, and improving our efforts to provide for our community
(including increasing staff hours, providing health insurance, and giving
additional support for our programs), our budget is growing, too. That’s
why we set the goals this year of *increasing our pledgers by 10% and
asking folks to engage with *the Fair Share Guidelines
<https://stewardshipforus.com/stewardship-resources/suggested-fair-share-contribution-guide/>
*.* We believe we do have the resources in this community to support our
budget - but we need everyone to get on board!
The Annual Budget Drive officially ended Sunday March 24th, *but you can
still make your pledge to support the 2019-2020 budget! *Please use this
link for our online pledge form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSefa_CZJYnxWfg5hegrP50ynZIoTj4uJxRQzHgcGTnEoyXbOQ/viewform?usp=sf_link>*
or *print out this PDF

and
mail it, email it, or walk it in. Your timely pledge will help us in
preparing a realistic budget for next church year.*
Thank you!
