*Opioid Overdose Prevention Workshop, Wed 5/24/23, 3:00-4:00 pm in the
Unitarian Church Vestry (first floor), 130 Main St, Montpelier*

Theresa Vezina, Executive Director of Vermont CARES <https://vtcares.org/>,
will join us on Wednesday, May 24th, at 3:00pm to show how to recognize an
opioid overdose and prevent death using Narcan, a nasal spray. The VT CARES
training demystifies what one should do in this emergency.

There is no further commitment required if attending this training, and the
training is free. No injections will be given. Theresa will offer
information about responding to this tragic community epidemic and, for
those who are willing, Narcan to have on hand in case of an emergency.  In
spite of the tragic content, the training is reassuring because we can
prevent some deaths if we know what to do.

What is Narcan? Prepackaged Nasal Spray (generic naloxone, Narcan®, Kloxxado
®), developed as a result of NIDA-funded research

is an FDA-approved prefilled, needle-free device that requires no assembly
and is sprayed into one nostril while the person lays on their back.   More
