From ucm.revjoan at gmail.com Wed Mar 8 08:19:17 2017 From: ucm.revjoan at gmail.com (Rev. Joan Javier-Duval) Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2017 09:19:17 -0500 Subject: [Messages] Special Email Request Message-ID: Hello, I would like to request this special email to be sent out this week - today or tomorrow would be great. Also, do you know if there is any way to change the "From" name of the email to my name rather than Unitarian Church of Montpelier? Thank you! Joan *Subject:* You're Invited to Dinner -- "A Beacon of Hope" Begins March 17 Dear UCM members and friends, There is much that weighs on our hearts these days, and we need places where we can find inspiration and sources of hope. Now in my second year with you, the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, and the community we build together, continues to be such a place for me. I am excited to be launching in just a couple of weeks our Annual Pledge Drive, ?A Beacon of Hope,? for the 2017-2018 church year. As a democratically run religious community, the contributions of time, talent, and treasure of members and friends are essential to fulfilling our mission. About 80% of the income for our operating budget comes from individual pledges. We will kick off this year?s pledge drive on *Friday, March 17*. *Join us for a delicious, homemade dinner, entertainment, and a special program beginning at 6pm at UCM*. Childcare will be provided. The dinner is free, but pre-registration is required. *Please RSVP* by Sunday, March 12. You can RSVP online at *http://tinyurl.com/UCMdinner* or in person with Stewardship Committee Chair, Dan Groberg, this Sunday. This year, the Stewardship Committee will be trying out some new approaches. First, we will start the drive with our community dinner on March 17. Second, the drive will only be 16 days long! We plan to wrap up the drive and encourage you to *make your pledge by Sunday, April 2*. Pledge materials will be available at the March 17 dinner, at church on Sunday, and also online. And, finally, we plan to recognize pledgers in the annual report. Recognition by name and commitment level will be optional. Again, I am very excited to begin our pledge drive to invest in our ministry for the 2017-2018 church year. Next year?s budget includes strategic investments in religious education (increased hours for our Acting DRE), administration (increased hours for our Sexton), board development, Sunday service live-streaming, and more. In these troubling times, UCM plays an ever more crucial role in being "A Beacon of Hope? and providing a supportive community and fighting for community justice. Thank you for joining together to make our pledge drive a success! With gratitude, Rev. Joan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
