Hello, folks at SRC Action:
Just wanted to fly this by you all and see if you have any ideas.
A young man I met at church last fall whom I tried to help out for a while is looking to return to Montpelier this coming week, look for a job in Montpelier and an affordable place to live. He has saved some money over the winter at a farm in NY and can pay some rent. When here last he was successful in finding jobs.

Does anyone have any thoughts about a room or apt. rental, even short term to help him get on his feet? His backup plan is to put up his tent in a campground nearby. There must be a better option than that!

Thanks for any thoughts.

The potluck is a great chance for you to talk about the social justice issues that matter to you in an easy-going, food-centered atmosphere. I will briefly introduce some of the things the committee has tackled this year but most of the lunch will be about connecting with others at your table.

> White Supremacy Teach-in: On May 7, in lieu of our regular SRC meeting, we will be hosting a white supremacy teach-in at UCM after church service. We hope this will bring attention to the systemic racism that exists even within our faith organization. This is a national event that will be happening at UU congregations around the world and has been organized by Black Lives of UU (BLUU). BLUU has resources and materials available for congregations that we will be using. If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact Ansel (ansel.ploog at gmail.com <mailto:ansel.ploog at gmail.com>).
