Celebrate Martin Luther King Day of Service with the Montpelier Community & ORE members!

Monday, January 15th at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier at 130 Main St. Join us for a Community Lunch from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and a Dialogue and Art Project from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. ORE members will be participating as facilitators!

Saturday, January 20th 2018 12:00 PM — 4:00 PM
The ORE Timebank and CVSWMD (Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District) are holding our first ever Repair Cafe on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Barre Universalist (First) Church ( 19 Church St ) from 12 to 4 pm. Bring a beloved broken item to be fixed for free! You'll also get coffee, tea, time with your neighbors, and you might learn a thing or two about repairing while you're there. There are 10 ORE members who are volunteering at the Repair Cafe, either as repair volunteer of for other tasks.  We are still looking for one or two people to table for ORE at the Repair Cafe.

ORE in the Community
Recently, Rev. Joan Javier-Duval (Unitarian Church Montpelier), delivered a sermon regarding our economic system, the ways it can harm us, and what we can do to enact a more life-sustaining economic model. During the sermon, she mentioned that “Vermont values keeping it local” and stated that Onion River Exchange (and HomeShare Vermont) “illustrate how we can operate outside the system of pure monetary exchange to fulfill our needs for services" . Join Art Walk in February!
Display your arts and/or crafts at the ORE office during the February  Montpelier Art Walk.  During the first Friday in February there will be another Art Walk in Montpelier. The Center for Arts and Learning that houses the ORE office is one of the many destinations on the Art Walk. If you make any type of art or crafts and want to share them with others, please let us know very quickly so that we can include in the planning for the ORE arts display.
