Faith Under Fire - Racism in Vermont; The Work and Our Future
Though many efforts of the past have proven less than effective, recently Vermont has begun the work of acknowledging and addressing systemic racism. However the COVID-19 impact coupled with the persistent racial disparities sustained by systemic racism is crippling black and brown people in Vermont (and elsewhere) in an unprecedented manner.
Join Mark Hughes, Executive Director of Justice For All and Coordinator of the Vermont Racial Justice Alliance as he frames a conversation with State Senator Debbie Ingram on the journey of establishing the Racial Equity Executive Director and Panel, the Constitutional Amendment (that clarifies the prohibition of slavery) and more through the lens of faith. Engage in a discussion on the hope for a road ahead that creates a new normal in Vermont that is just, fair and safe for everyone. The struggle for racial justice in Vermont continues.
