Dear Friends -

Sadly, Art has had a couple of bad days since Sunday. Yesterday he was
agitated and speaking nonsense. Today an MRI showed increased lesions in
his brain - i.e. the bad stuff that is the root of this mess has grown
"markedly." Tomorrow morning he will have a PET scan to see if the stuff in
his brain is spreading to other areas. Doctors also want to schedule a
lumbar puncture that they hope will show what kind of organisms are present
- auto immune, infection, or possibly cancer.

Sue had a long and rough day today. Yesterday was hard, too. I thought it
was important to update you all again soon since the last report was so
positive. I was imagining notes left for Sue saying how great it is that
Art is doing better, which is no longer the case right now. This is a nasty
zig zag with a very uncertain path; whatever this thing is, it is not
linear, which stinks, because of course we wanted one good day to multiply
into endless good days...

I wish there were better news.
