Below is sad update on Dave Grundy's health. Our thoughts go to both Dave
and Darleen.

Hello friends,
Dave, Matt, and Nancy met this morning with the palliative care team at UVM
Medical Center.  I’m sorry to tell you that the cancer Dave has is too
widespread and aggressive for treatment and so the next stage of his care
will be hospice.  Dave will be moved soon to Mayo Healthcare’s hospice
facility in Northfield.

This afternoon (11/28), Dave underwent surgery to remove a blockage near
his bladder.  Doctors were concerned about renal failure.  I don’t know the
results of that surgery as of this writing, but doctors were confident that
they would be able to remove the blockage.  When Dave has recovered from
the surgery, the move to Mayo Healthcare will go forward.

Dave cannot see visitors at this time, but when he is settled in Mayo,
we’ll post visiting information.

As for cards and letters, keep sending to the home address for now.  We’ll
get the mail to Dave quickly.  We’ll be sure to let you know if and when
this changes.
