Some of you may have received this invitation from Migrant Justice for
their Annual Fiesta. There will be an organizing meeting from 4-6pm that
day, Saturday, December 10. I plan to attend, and I would welcome anyone

to an outpouring of recent support we will be organizing a special *"get
invovled" meeting from 4-6pm* before the fiesta.

Since the election of Trump Migrant Justice's website has been flooded by
folks from all over Vermont and across the country reaching out to lend a
hand in anticipation of Trump's war on immigrants. Our members are deeply
heartened and moved by this outpouring of support and, for this reason, on
December 10th we will kick off our annual party with *a 2 hour "get
involved" session *for new and veteran volunteers and allies alike. Until
then our team will be developing a broad-based strategy to engage hundreds
of Vermonters to build a movement to effectively defend the human rights of
immigrant workers.

The Migrant Justice community is hopeful that Burlington Mayor Miro
Weinberger follows through on his promise to make Burlington a Sanctuary
City by taking the first step, which is for the  Burlington Police
Department to fully adopt all elements of the new state-wide Fair and
Impartial Policing policy that Migrant Justice helped create.  Any
sanctuary city effort must be firmly rooted in a legal framework that
defines a policy of no collaboration between local agencies and immigration
enforcement efforts. We encourage our allies across the state of Vermont to
build a corridor of sanctuary cities and towns across Vermont that adopt
the state-wide Fair and Impartial Policing Policy.  As Migrant Justice
leader Roger Balcazar told News Channel 5
